LBC AFC meet They
Gantry in the Final of the Scottish Sunday Amateur Cup at
Almondvale Stadium at Livingston Football Club, having had a
magnificent cup run and being fully deserving of their place in
the Final. Their opponents are The Gantry from the Airdrie and
Coatbridge Sunday Amateur League and the match is sure to
provide great entertainment for fans of both teams.
Set up five years
ago by Scott Reid, Bob Lothian, Murray Allan and Gav Hunter, the
Club’s origins lie in Lochend and included a mixture of locals
and the ex-players of Lochend Boys Club.
The Club then joined
the Edinburgh Sunday Amateur Football Association and worked its
way up through the Divisions, winning more than a little
silverware. Although being one of the best teams in the Premier
Division, LBC have not yet been able to win it.
Manager Scott Reid,
the committee and players would like to thank all of those who
who have helped with sponsorship over the years including Ronnie
Scott of Boscolo Bathrooms, Reid The Road, Logue Joinery, Murray
Allan Autospray, the Bunch o Roses and Doni Plastering.
All good wishes of
the ESAFA, their Committee and member teams go with LBC for
Sunday with the belief that the Edinburgh team can bring the Cup
back to the City.
The Final kicks off
at 2.30pm (3rd May).
